Acupuncture at La Clinique Naturelle with Eric
In Chinese medicine, everything is energy; energy that is called: Qi.
Man is a microcosm who constantly interacts with the external environment: the macrocosm. If there is an energy imbalance (insufficiency, excess, stagnation…), then disease can appear.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a major discipline of traditional Chinese medicine that dates back two thousand years.
It consists in stimulating, using fine single-use needles, the points located on the meridians. The meridians are energy paths crossing the whole body including the energy also called Qi. They are associated with different organ systems such as the liver, lungs, heart etc.
Depending on the pathology and symptoms of the patient, the observation of the tongue and palpation of the pulse, the therapist chooses certain points that allow the organism to balance itself. This is the principle of homeostasis.
When we open our skin, the body heals itself. This is also true inside our body. Symptoms appear when the body can no longer self-regulate, it then asks for help by manifesting itself in pain, sleep disturbances, etc.
Thanks to the acupuncture needles, the chosen points will accelerate the self-healing process by releasing endorphin, corticosteroids, serotonin and other neurotransmitters of the central nervous system.
Let us imagine that the meridians are highways then the energies will be the cars which circulate there. When we encounter traumatic situations, for example stress, this creates traffic and therefore a stagnation of energy in our meridians. The energy is blocked and no longer circulates. Organs and cells are no longer supplied according to their needs.
The goal of acupuncture
The goal of acupuncture is to fluidify this traffic in order to supply cells and organs.
Chinese medicine aims to restore a good quantity, quality and energy circulation through the stimulation of acupuncture points.
It can be used for the treatment of pain, insomnia, digestive disorders, smoking cessation, menstrual disorders, stress …
These points can be pricked with a sterile disposable acupuncture needle, or heated or even stimulated with the finger.
